What is MarginRadar?
MarginRadar by Radrly is a Jira Cloud app (Atlassian Forge) that turns native Jira worklogs into budget, cost, burn rate and margin for every Jira space and epic.
Who it is for
MarginRadar is built for agencies, software houses and delivery teams that run client or internal work in Jira Cloud and need to know what that work costs. Finance sets the rates, project managers watch budgets and margin, and everyone else sees how much of a budget is used.
The problem it solves
Teams already log time in Jira, but cost and margin usually live in a spreadsheet that is rebuilt at month-end. By then an overrun has already happened. MarginRadar calculates cost and margin continuously from the worklogs in Jira, so you see where a budget is heading while there is still time to act.
How it works
- Install it from Atlassian Marketplace on a Jira Cloud site with time tracking enabled.
- Set rate cards: cost and billable rates at global, role, user or space level, with effective dates, so a rate change does not rewrite past periods.
- Add budgets in money, hours or both for a space. Advanced adds epic budgets and scoped budgets by version, label, component or JQL.
- Import past worklogs to get numbers on day one. New worklogs are picked up as your team logs time.
- Watch the numbers: spent, remaining budget, burn rate, billable value and margin appear on the space page, the work item panel and the period report. Advanced adds a forecast to the budget end date, the Budget risk gadget, real-time alerts and a Portfolio page.
What is different about it
- Native Jira worklogs. No separate time tracker is needed.
- Runs on Atlassian. Built on Forge, with no calls outside Atlassian, no external analytics and no outbound webhooks. Data stays in Forge SQL and Key-Value Store under your site’s data residency. See Security.
- Role-based visibility. Finance sees rates and per-person cost, PMs see budget, burn and margin without rates, and Viewers see % used and status. The rules are enforced on the server side for the space page, gadget, CSV export and Rovo agent.
- Revenue models for client work. Hours × billable rate, fixed price or a monthly retainer, with scope drift and change orders on fixed-price work (fixed price and retainers on Advanced).
- A Rovo agent (Advanced) that answers budget, cost and margin questions from live MarginRadar data, masked by the asker’s role, with no external AI call.

Frequently asked questions
Is MarginRadar a time tracker?
No. MarginRadar reads the native Jira worklogs your team already logs and turns them into cost, billable value and margin. If you log time in another app, enable that app’s sync to Jira worklogs.
Does MarginRadar send data outside Atlassian?
No. It is built on Atlassian Forge and makes no calls outside Atlassian. Data is stored in Forge hosted storage and follows your Jira site’s data residency. Radrly operates no server that holds it.
Is MarginRadar an accounting or invoicing tool?
No. It is not an accounting, invoicing, tax or payroll system. It shows budget, cost and margin inside Jira, and its forecasts are estimates that do not replace your financial controls.
